Not Another Vet Visit

What was that expression, when it rains it pours? Well lately, I would have to agree. I just got back from taking Lion to of all places, my vet. After last week, this was the last place I wanted to be.

Yesterday Lion started running around the dog pen in a frenzy as he went to the bathroom, marking everywhere. He was running back and forth in a panic, yet he seemed fine otherwise. Well, of course I was totally freaked out after losing Webster. I dropped off a sample yesterday and it was negative. That was good, I thought. However, since his behavior was still suspect, the vet wanted me to bring him in. Lion loves the vet and loves all the attention he generates there. As I sat fretting with worry, he makes himself oh so comfortable laying on the floor making sad eyes at all the other patients. That would be the two-legged and four legged patients. He can really work a room I'll tell you. In all fairness though, he actually can't stand too long without his legs tiring. So here I am, nervous and concerned and he is basking in adoration. Well, after x-rays and an exam with my fantastic vet Dr. M, he was put on antibiotics. Nothing too serious, thank dog, so I am breathing easier after this visit. He is such a big mush. He wanted to play with all the little cats and little dogs. No rabbit prey drive for this big guy. No wonder he didn't race too long.

I think maybe you should go back to school to get a veterinary degree and save a little money! :--)

rhapsody..Seriously, at times I think I already paid my first year.

Diane..I was holding mine too. He's the strong, silent type and I was worried. These greyhounds have a reputation of coming up with weird maladies out of the blue.

I can relate to where you are coming from having paid thousands of dollars on my dogs and cats through the years (my sweet black lab Ashley needed exploratory surgery twice due to things she ate). I'm so glad the big guy is doing ok!

Thanks and I sympathize with your vet bills. Actually, this big guy Lion is famous for eating things he shouldn't. I have been pretty lucky knock on wood.

Lady Q...Thanks for stopping and well wishes for Lion

Naida..Thanks hun

Thank goodness he's ok. Buddy does that when he doesn't feel well. Unfortunately his wasn't ok but it's just so darn scary when they do something out of the ordinary and give us a heart attack. I hope he's feeling much better now.
