Mailbox Monday~June 1, 2009

This week I had a few purchases that I couldn't pass up and then several books came through the mail. Books on the bottom are my purchases.

There are a few Civil War books for my course for independent reading otherwise the list is pretty diverse.

The Titanic, The Untold Story
East of the Sun by Julia Gregson
Homer's Odyssey by Gwen Cooper
For Cause and Comrades by James McPherson
The Last Ember by Daniel Levin
Beneath a Northern Sky by Woodworth
The Death of Meriwether Lewis by Starrs & Gale
The Book of Unholy Mischief by Elle Newmark who actually sent me an autographed copy. So I'd like to thank her for that.

Books at the Store were:
The Civil War by Bruce Catton
Amagansett by Mark Mills
The Fiery Cross by Diana Gabaldon (couldn't pass up this bargain)

I was so surprised to get the autographed copy of The Book of Unholy Mischief that it is a treasure for sure. I'm also looking forward to reading the book The Titanic the untold story. This historical fiction novel is based on the true account of the black passenger Joseph Laroche and his wife. The author did extensive research to write this novel so I'm excited about this one.

What did you get in your mailbox and which book is burning in your hands to start reading? Let us know!

I love your kitty mailbox-too cute! Looks like you got a lot of good books. I have East of the Sun too and it sure sounds good. I'm going to be reading The Book of Unholy Mischief also-another one that sounds great.

Have a great week!

I want to read several of these but The Fiery Cross is the only one I've read (I still prefer the first one!).
