Bookworm's Dinner

Bookworm's Dinner

Well it's been a busy couple of years for sure. Can't believe my last post was 7/4/23.  That would have been just before the 2023-2024 school year. What a year. New principal. New rules. Medical issues that would interfere with the upcoming school year. So, when April 2024 arrived I knew I would retire just shy of the end of the school year.  The year was not easy. Was I happy to retire? Yes and No

~Leaving my students was hard. They were the reason I was a teacher. They taught me as  taught them

My 25 years as a media specialist in middle and elementary schools was a second, third career. I wanted to help children and be an advocate for reading free choice.  That part of my being is in the past. The future is not promised to anyone. I value each day, each hour and minute.

From the spiritual teachings of Eckhart Tolle:
"What you perceive as precious is not time but the one point that is out of time: the Now. That is precious indeed. The more you are focused on time—past and future—the more you miss the Now, the most precious thing there is."~~ Eckhart Tolle
