Sunday Salon, January 31, 2010
I can't believe it is already the last day of January. It's beautiful outside today and I have a lot of catching up planned. I have to finish a paper for a grad class, organize my taxes, and some mundane household cleaning. However, I would much rather finish a scarf I am making for my sister-in-law and read Dan Simmons new book Black Hills. So this is the quandary I am in. If you look at my things to do list, I have tasks that I consider a chore, and then the fun stuff. Don't you just hate that? So, what would you do? Do you have this same problem? I'd love to hear about it.
Mystery Update...Many of you have asked about Mystery and I thank you so much for your concern and good wishes!!! She does not have the tick disease or any other tick disease she was tested for. That's the good thing. However, she still is not right as she seems stressed and unsettled, lethargic at times and whines a lot. I have to keep an eye on her and watch for patterns and perhaps she has epilepsy. So far no seizure while I am home, but I think she had on on Friday judging from her behavior. Thanks for keeping her in your thoughts.
I finished Island of the Swans by Ciji Ware and will be posting a review shortly. Historical Fiction fans will love this one for sure.
Hope everyone has a great Sunday and start to the work week. Enjoy your day!!

Great news about Mystery; hope she stays well. Those pesky lists--since I tend to be somewhat of a procrastinator, I tend to do what I appeals to me most. I'd be finishing the scarf probably...LOL
I've mastered the art of procrastination when it comes to the more "chore-ish" parts of my life. Work - primarily grading papers - gets pushed off to the last possible moment while I sometimes write and schedule blog posts weeks in advance. :)
My Sunday Salon
Happy Sunday, glad Mystery doesnt have any dreaded tick diseases.
The scarf is looking great!

I hope you get to the bottom of Mystery's illness soon and that it turns out not to be serious.
When I have chores and fun stuff to do I do tend to do the chores first, other wise I feel guilty doing the fun stuff. Though if I put my mind to it, I can usually get it done quicker.
That scarf is lovely, as is Dan Simmons :) I haven't read his new one yet but I'm sure I will.
Hope you have a lovely Sunday and that Mystery is able to relax a bit and get some rest.
January seemed to slip by so fast. I have some catching up to do today too. Although nothing quite as significant as your list. :-)
I've switched internet providers and now I have to go in and change the links on several of my photos which are tied into my old account. It's going to be a long and tedious process, I think. I wish there was an easier way to do it.
Mystery is in my thoughts, Wisteria. I know how difficult this must be for you--how helpless you must feel. I'm glad at least you've been able to rule out any tick related illnesses.
I hope you have a great week. I'll be thinking of you and Mystery and your other furkids.
Diane..I did manage to get a lot done gathering my taxes. Yuck!!! However, I did read some and I just put my knitting down so that I could feed the hounds. So it was a good day. :)
Trisha..Grading papers...I hear you!!
I used to love to play school and grade papers when I was a kid. The real deal is not fun. You're like me.
Naida..Thanks about the scarf. I'm a little over half way. Mystery thanks you:)
Vivienne..I did exactly what you said and I feel so much better. I'm having fun now reading and knitting. My tax stuff is done so I'm happy. Oh the government!
Literary..I do sympathize with your Internet change over. I hope it goes smoothly. I know it is tedious..hang in there.
Mystery and I thank you for caring.
Ti...I started reading Black Hills. It is very different but good so far. At this point it takes place between two different periods in Black Hills life. The historical setting is a departure from the norm. The details are pretty graphic but that's how it was during the time of Custer.
I hope Mystery will feel a lot better soon. Here's to a wonderful February! :D
Oh I'm very bad about chores, I put them off until I can't any longer. Glad to hear Mystery doesn't have tick disease. Hoping she gets well soon!
