Summer Saturday in New England

I don't know about you, but in the Connecticut we have had the rainiest spring and summer that I can remember. I just read yesterday that we have El Nino to thank for this lovely wet season. However, I dug through my photos and thought I would share these. Fortunately, I love a cool summer and low humidity which we have had. So I'm not complaining believe me. Besides, what better weather is there for a bookworm? I'm happy to be eating through pages and pages of dinner.

The above photos were taken last winter when schools were closed after a Nor'easter pummeled the Northwest Hills. I love the still solitude of the lake in these shots. However, like a capricious New Englander, looking at them now I am happy for the rain that nurtures nature's summer bouquet among the green. Below are photos of a collective potted garden I call my eventual patio salad. I already have had tons of green beans. Yum! Early green tomatoes show great promise. I hope you are enjoying your summer. What has your weather been like. I'd love to see a photo or two. Have a happy Saturday.

Such pretty pics and I love the patio salad :)

It's just hot here. We went to an outdoor concert last night and I felt like we just melted into the night. Today I've just been indoors crafting and now taking a break with some cold watermelon and blog reading!

Gorgeous photos. I am not a sun lover either. I like it warm and sunny but can't stand it too hot. Love Spring rather than Summer.

Blogger is being very nasty today. It doesn't want to post comments so my apologies if this goes through twice.

Great photos. Our weather hasn't been the best this year. Usually we get some fairly warm weather but we're already half way through our summer without much warmth. Last week was cold, gloomy, rainy and tornado warnings everywhere. I sure hope this week is better. I love the sun.
